TPF Liquid Sulphur FilterThe primary purpose of the Sulphur Filter is to remove contaminants such as ashes and bitumen that might plug the catalyst mass downstream in the process. The removal of solids contaminants decreases maintenance costs and improves the operation time of the burners. The TPF Liquid Sulphur Filter is a horizontal filter tank with vertically positioned filter leafs. The tank is fully steam jacketed on sides, dish heads cover closure and all nozzle connection. Filters are normally of Carbon Steel construction throughout. Standard pressure design is 6 bar, with 3,5 bar pressure differential across the filter leafs. |

Steam jacket pressure design is 6 bar. The design temperature is 165°C The filter should be insulated with a minimum of 50 mm of insulation. The filter is utilised with a three part quick-opening closure, hydraulically operated. One can choose the closure to be heated over the locking ring or the flanges can be heated. Important for the closure is that before closing the flange surfaces have to be cleaned thoroughly. The three part quick opening closure is provided with saftey devices which have to be unlocked before opening the filter. |
The above is designed with retractable tank and fixed cover, therefore disconnecting pipe lines during the cleaning procedures will not be necessary. Filter leaf bundle and filtrate manifold are connected to cover, and inlet, outlet, drain, air vent, blow down and recycle (if any) connections are mounted in the stationary cover. The filter on the right is a more economical design. The head is connected to the filter leaf. When opening the vessel the manifold with filter leafs are being retracted. Before opening the filter vessel, the filtrate outlet pipe has to be disconnected. |
