Filter aid: "sulphur aid"
Filtration of Liquid Sulphur is one of the most important steps before burning the Sulphur. Pressure leaf filters in combination with inorganic filter aids is the common used technology.
Until some years ago, the filteraid market was almost entirely controlled by mineral filter aids like diatomaceous earth and perlite. During the last few years, filter aids based on organic raw materials (cellulose, wood fibred and plant fibres) have become more and more popular. Cellulose products are fibrous where inorganic products are particle shaped.
The major advantages of using cellulose filter aids in the filtration of Liquid Sulphur are:
- Cellulose is converted into CO2 and H2O and will not interfere with the catalyst. This means the absence of Silica particles in the downstream towers. You will expierence an increase of catalyst life time and reduction of shut downs and maintenance costs.
- Cake removal. Due to the structure of the cellulose the cake can be removed very easily, even thin filter cakes. The life time of the filter leafs has increased!
- Less consumption per m².
- Higher flow rates per m²
We offer 2 GRADES OF SULPHURAID:
SULPHUR AID FINE: for common Canadian Sulphur, medium to high impurities level
SULPHUR AID EXTRA FINE: for refinery sulphur. low level of impurities

All are packed in bags of 20 Kg. Shipping minimum is one pallet (480 Kg)
