Gas Sweetening: SCCF Filters

Gas Sweetening or Amine treatment is a term used to describe the various processes for removal of contaminants, primarily Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from natural gas or hydrocarbon liquids. H2S and COare  called “acid gases” because absorbed in water, they form an acidic solution.  Due to they acidity solid contaminants are formed. These contaminants worn from piping are collected in the amine solution, which ultimately lead to blocking and foam generation in the column  Therefore it is essential that gas sweetening units in the refinery processes  are free from problem causers. Removing arisen contaminants from the Amine is an effective method for securing the unit’s capacity, also in protecting the system and downstream equipment against corrosion, erosion, wearing, plugging,

SULPHURNET SCCF SELF CLEANING CANDLE FILTER is a very effective Precoat Pressure Filter for this applications. The candles are vertically positioned in horizontal collecting manifolds and are covered with a filter cloth. The filtration is from outside to inside. When the filtration cycle is completed, cake discharge is brought about by counter-current gas pressure in the interior of the candle. The quick pulse gas blow-back lifts the filter cloth from the support candle and the filter cake releases from the filter cloth and drops down.

The use of Cellulose filteraid (AMINE-AID) makes it a very reliable filtersystem.

AMINE-AID

Cellulose based filter aid for pre coat filters in amine filtration. Less pressure differential, longer filtration cycles.

SKID BUILD UNITS

Sulphurnet can provide skid build units for Gas Sweetening applications. This includes the Basic and Detailed Engineering of a Amine Filtration Skid including the following components:

Pre Filter:          for the removal of solid contaminant

this can be a pre coat filter or

                           cartridge filter system, depening on

the espected solid load and clients

                           requirements.

Carbon Filter:    these are used for the removal

                           of hydrocarbon contaminations and

reduce the tendency of the amine

solution in the stripper to foam. This

can be a Carbon Bed Filter or a

                           Carbon Cartridge Filter

Polishing filter: To prevent carbon particles entering

                           the Gas Sweetening unit a

polishing filter is installed after the

                           Carbon Filter.

Piping, Valves, Instrumentation and Automation are included.

For Sour Gas Application PWHT is standard. HIC materials can be applied.
